2026 Indiana County Camp Cadet
Application Deadline Extended to May 31st
Indiana, PA – Applications are still being accepted for the 2026 Indiana County Camp Cadet program, which will be held in July at Camp Orenda in Indiana, PA.
The 2026 Indiana County Camp Cadet program is scheduled for the week of Sunday, July 12 through Saturday, July 18 at Camp Orenda, 280 Lions Health Camp Road, Indiana, PA 15701.
Applications can be obtained at Troop A, Indiana, 35 Fenton Road, Indiana, PA 15701 or downloaded from the Indiana County Camp Cadet website. The extended application deadline is May 31.
Established in 2008, Indiana County Camp Cadet is a free and exciting opportunity for youth ages thirteen through fifteen who reside or attend school in Indiana County to attend a week-long, overnight camp focused on providing a first-hand experience of a career in the law enforcement, military, criminal justice, first responder, and related fields. The camp is staffed by Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) troopers and other volunteers.
Participants, who are addressed as “Cadet,” are physically and mentally challenged while they engage in team-building exercises, develop self-confidence and leadership qualities, and explore law enforcement-related topics and skills.
Throughout the week, cadets attend presentations by various distinguished individuals and agencies, which have included the Indiana County District Attorney’s Office, a Magisterial District Judge, the Indiana County Coroner’s Office, Indiana County Emergency Management Agency/911, Citizens’ Ambulance Service, the Indiana Fire Association, Pennsylvania Game Commission, the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, the Pennsylvania National Guard, LifeFlight, and others.
Cadets may also receive instruction from the PSP Aviation Patrol Unit, Canine Unit, Computer Crime Unit, Clandestine Laboratory Response Team, Hazardous Device and Explosives Section, Fi****ms Unit, and Patrol Unit.
Indiana County Camp Cadet, Inc. is a non-profit organization and is not a recreational camp or a disciplinary camp for problem youth. Thanks to generous and ongoing community support, approximately 20 to 30 youth attend the program annually at no cost to their family.
Questions may be directed to Trooper Cliff Greenfield, Director, at 724-357-1998.
