This Thanksgiving, we’re giving back to our Indian Springs community by preparing and delivering 50 Thanksgiving meals to residents who are homebound and unable to travel.

Meals will be delivered Thanksgiving Day beginning at noon. Because of delivery distance and proximity, this meal drive is limited to Indian Springs residents only.

If you or someone you know could benefit from a meal, please make sure to sign up early. Sign-ups will close one week before Thanksgiving or once all 50 meals have been claimed.

Donations are greatly appreciated and will help us provide these meals to members of our community who need a little extra support this holiday season.

Thank you for helping us take care of our neighbors and make Thanksgiving a little brighter for Indian Springs.

🔥 Fire Prevention Week is coming to Creech AFB! 🔥

Creech Fire & Emergency Services is kicking off Fire Prevention Week 2026, October 5–8, with this year’s theme: “Charge Into Fire Safety. Safe Charging Is a Superpower.”

🌶️ We’re starting things off Monday, October 5 with our Annual Chili Cook-Off and Open House! Join us at Fire Station 1, Bldg. 1150 from 1100–1300 to see who takes home the chili crown. Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, with winners selected by a panel of judges. Fire Station tours will also be available throughout the day.

Want to compete? Register by September 30 and have your chili at Fire Station 1 by 1000 on October 5.

⚡ This week is also a reminder to practice safe charging habits: use manufacturer-approved chargers, charge devices on hard, open surfaces, never charge damaged or swollen batteries, and keep charging devices away from exits and combustible materials.

Follow along throughout the week as Creech Fire brings fire-safety education across the installation and out to Indian Springs! 🚒

Prevent fires. Charge safely. Stay ready.

Today, we say farewell to Captain Wes Santos as his time with Creech Fire & Emergency Services comes to a close.

Captain Santos’ time at Creech was well served, but a new endeavor is calling his name as he begins the next chapter of his career with the Department of Homeland Security.

Around the firehouse, Wes will be remembered as the keeper of morale—the kind of man who could keep spirits high when the days were long, the work was demanding, and things got tough. His resolve, attitude, and ability to bring people together made him exactly the person you wanted beside you when the pressure was on.

More than a Captain and coworker, Wes became part of the Creech Fire family. While his career may be taking him somewhere new, that family does not disappear when he walks out the door. He will always be welcomed back with open arms, and he will always have a department full of brothers and sisters ready to answer the call for him at a moment’s notice.

Captain Santos, thank you for your leadership, your friendship, the laughs, and everything you brought to this department. We wish you nothing but success with DHS and whatever comes next.

TAKE A BREAK!

Stay safe, Captain. We’ll see you down the road. 🇺🇸🚒

The climb ended, but the remembrance did not.

Following the 108-floor STRAT Tower Climb, members of Creech Fire & Emergency Services continued a day dedicated to honoring those who never made it home.

Three Creech firefighters, Fire Chief Ramon Fitzgerald, and Deputy Fire Chief Howard Shelton joined fellow firefighters, first responders, honor guards, Pipes & Drums, and supporters for the 25th Anniversary 9/11 “Never Forget” Tribute and memorial march through downtown Las Vegas.

Together, they marched along Fremont Street in remembrance of the 343 members of the FDNY who made the ultimate sacrifice, the fellow first responders who were lost, and every life taken on September 11, 2001.

For the fire service, 343 is more than a number. It represents 343 individuals who answered the call, entered buildings while others were escaping, and never returned to their families or firehouses. Twenty-five years later, we continue to carry their memory with us.

To every firefighter, first responder, Honor Guard member, musician, and participant who marched — thank you. And to everyone who lined the route, stopped to pay their respects, waved a flag, or simply stood in support — thank you for helping remind us that their sacrifice has not been forgotten.

Different departments. Different uniforms. One fire service. One promise.

We Will Never Forget.

Never Forget. 🇺🇸

Today, on the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, 11 firefighters from Creech AFB Fire & Emergency Services joined first responders from across the Las Vegas Valley for The STRAT’s annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb.

Our firefighters climbed 108 flights and 1,455 steps to the top of The STRAT in remembrance of the 343 FDNY firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice while responding to the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.

Twenty-five years later, their courage, sacrifice, and commitment to others continue to resonate throughout the fire service.

We climb because they climbed.

343. Never Forgotten.

Huge shoutout to our Creech firefighters for their strong work and outstanding job extinguishing this fully involved F-350 fire on Highway 95.
Through our auto-aid agreement with Clark County, Creech Fire is responsible for approximately 20 miles of Highway 95, ensuring critical coverage in this remote stretch.
Special thanks to Station 83 for rolling in with their water tender and providing essential support to our crews on scene. Teamwork like this makes all the difference.
We’re also grateful to the vehicle’s occupants for recognizing the danger early and calling 911 right away. That quick decision gave responders the best possible chance to handle the incident safely.
Public safety tip: If you suspect your vehicle may be on fire (smoke, burning smell, unusual heat, or visible flames):
• Pull over safely as soon as possible and turn off the engine.
• Get everyone out immediately and move at least 100 feet away, preferably upwind.
• Call 911 and stay clear—never open the hood or trunk, and do not try to fight the fire yourself.
• Wait for firefighters to arrive.
Did you know? Most highway vehicle fires are caused by mechanical failure or malfunction (roughly 40–45%), followed by electrical failure or malfunction (about 20–25%). Together, these account for the majority of incidents. Regular maintenance is one of the best ways to reduce the risk.
Stay safe out there, and thank you to everyone who helped bring this response to a successful close.

🚒 Another successful 1410 drill in the books at Creech AFB Fire Department!
Today’s training featured a 300-ft forward lay and the advancement of two attack lines. These drills sharpen our apparatus drivers’ skills and reinforce the speed, precision, and teamwork required to stay mission-ready.
Every second counts. Every lay matters.
Stay sharp. Stay ready.
