It has been 25 years since 343 FDNY firefighters answered their last call.

Every year we walk 3.43 miles up and down Gulf Boulevard to make sure they are not forgotten. This year marks the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, and we would love to see our biggest turnout yet.

Please join us on Friday, September 11 at 8:00 AM.

📍 Meet at Church of the Isles, 200 24th Ave, Indian Rocks Beach

All are welcome — families, friends, neighbors, and visitors. Wear comfortable shoes, bring water, and come as you are.

Not sure you can go the full 3.43 miles? Come anyway. There's no pace to keep and no finish line to hit — walk as much of it as you'd like and turn back whenever you need to. Our crews will be running the route in a support vehicle with water, and they're happy to give anyone a lift back to the start.

Deputy Chief Todd Best and our Emergency Operations staff presented our newly revised Emergency Management Plan. As storm season progresses, this comprehensive update ensures our crews are strategically positioned, fully equipped, and ready to respond swiftly and safely to protect our community when it matters most.

We were honored to welcome guest speaker Tony Perez, who delivered an outstanding, interactive presentation on "Leading Among Your Peers in the Fire Service." Fresh off presenting this topic at the New York State Fire Symposium in Syracuse, NY, Tony brought incredible energy and insight to our officers.
​His message aligned perfectly with the ongoing vision of Fire Chief Ken Grimes to build a deeply rooted, positive department culture. True leadership isn't just about rank; it’s about how we support, influence, and elevate one another every single day on the bay floor and on the fireground.
