The books for our October book clubs are in! You can read these books without going to book club but you're always welcome at our meetings!
The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek by Kim Michele Richardson is a story within a story inspired by the blue-skinned people of Kentucky and the dedicated Kentucky Pack Horse Library Service of the 1930s; a story of raw courage, fierce strength, and Cussy Mary Carter's belief that books can carry us anywhere. Cussy faithfully carries out her duties, sometimes traveling 100 miles a week, delivering books & magazines, reading to her friends, neighbors and school children in the rural mountains. The story’s beautifully told and pays tribute to the valiant men and women who served as Pack Horse Librarians. This is historical fiction at its best!
