Today was a proud and historic day for the Indian River Shores Public Safety Department.

This morning, we placed Engine 41 into service during our traditional Push-In Ceremony, a time-honored symbol of teamwork, dedication, and the evolution of the fire service.

After years of dependable frontline response, Engine 101 has officially been retired. It served this community with distinction, and we are grateful to every member who operated and maintained it.

Investments like this reflect more than new equipment; they represent a continued commitment to the safety of our residents, visitors, and personnel. We are grateful for the continued leadership and community support that make these advancements possible.

HOLIDAY SAFETY REMINDER

During the Christmas and New Year holidays, impaired-driving crashes and fatalities increase nationwide. According to the latest NHTSA data, December drunk-driving deaths are one of the highest seen in the past 15 years.

To keep our community safe, you will see increased law enforcement presence on our roadways as part of the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign, running December 12 through January 1.

Let’s work together to keep Indian River Shores safe this holiday season.
