On behalf of the Indialantic Police Department, we wish to thank CFO Blaise Ingoglia for his continued support of local law enforcement and our officers serving under the 287(g) Immigration Task Force. His partnership and commitment to public safety strengthens our ability to work alongside federal authorities in addressing illegal immigration, and keeping our community safe.

Chief Mike Connor

This afternoon I was honored to stand with the State of Florida's Chief Financial Officer, Blaise Ingoglia, along with Chief Chris Kuehn of Cocoa Beach Police Department and Chief Mike Connor of Indialantic Police Department regarding immigration enforcement in the state of Florida!!

CFO Ingoglia presented our respective agencies with reimbursement funds from the State Board of Immigration Enforcement. The funds allow our agency to work with local, state, and federal partners through the 287g program to take illegal aliens off of our streets while enforcing the immigration laws of our great nation!!

I want to personally thank CFO Ingoglia and his team for their work to help facilitate this program across the State of Florida as we lead the nation in fighting illegal immigration!!

Sheriff Wayne Ivey

Here we slow again. It’s Indialantic’s 5th annual holiday golf cart parade! Come join IPD and the Melbourne Beach Police Department this Friday evening (Dec. 19) as we lead a band of beachside buggies through our residential neighborhoods.

We will be lining up starting at 5:45pm at Ormond Drive and Orlando Blvd. Best decorated cart judging begins at 6:15 pm, and the parade begins at 7:00 pm sharp. Best decorated cart receives a cash award, and we kindly ask that each cart give a charitable donation to the judging crew to benefit Candlelighters of Brevard, inc. (Indialantic).

If you got it, flaunt it. Personally, we feel IPD’s entry will win best decorated this year.

If you don’t have a golf cart, that’s ok. Pull up a chair on your driveway and join us along the route anyway.

Flyer and route are attached. *participants are kindly asked not to throw candy/objects to the crowd along the route.

Check out this important information about E-Bikes vs. E-Motos. Know the difference between the two before you buy one! Thank you, Satellite Beach Police Department Official!

🎄 Know the E-Bike Laws Before a Christmas Gift Becomes an Instant Regret

E-Bikes are becoming more common on our roads, sidewalks, and throughout Satellite Beach. With that increase, the Satellite Beach Police Department is seeing more unsafe operation and more complaints from residents. As we approach the holidays, we want parents to be aware of what they are purchasing and what Florida law actually allows.

Many families unintentionally buy devices that look like E-Bikes but are legally classified as E-Motos. That difference determines where they can be ridden and whether a license, registration, or tag is required. We don’t want any parent to spend hundreds of dollars on a gift their child can’t safely—or legally—use.

Florida House Bill 243 is also proposing stricter regulations, including speed limits, wattage restrictions, and licensing requirements for certain electric bikes capable of higher speeds. Understanding these distinctions now can help prevent frustration later.

Before you buy:
🚲 E-Bikes
•MUST have pedals
•Have a small electric motor
•Max assisted speed: 28 mph
•Allowed on roads, bike lanes, and sidewalks

⚡ E-Motos (Electric Motorcycles)
•No pedals
•Often exceed 40+ mph
•Not allowed on sidewalks, bike lanes, or public roads without proper licensing
•Require a driver’s license, registration, and a tag to operate legally

The most common problem we see is parents purchasing an E-Moto thinking it’s an E-Bike-only to find out afterward that it cannot be used the way they intended.

👨‍👩‍👧 Parents:
The Satellite Beach Police Department encourages you to talk with your children about:
•Stopping at stop signs
•Right-of-way rules
•Riding safely in traffic
•ALWAYS wearing a helmet

E-Bikes offer fun and independence, but they also bring increased risks. We want every child in Satellite Beach to enjoy their new gifts safely and responsibly.

The police department would like to extend a heart felt congratulations to the Garden Club By the Sea at Lily Park Indialantic FL for a fantastic and memorable tribute to past and present military veterans during their Veterans Day ceremony at Lily Park. Pastor Bob White gave a fitting invocation and BSA Troop #380 did an outstanding job during the flag ceremony!

Major Jim Cusic (ret. USAF and 2001 Pentagon attack survivor) gave an emotional speech and the “River Singers Choir” did an outstanding job with their rendition of “American Tears”.

Very well done Garden Club and thank you for allowing us to attend. To all veterans, thank you for your service!
