This beautiful Prairie Warbler may be small, but it’s hard to miss with its bright yellow face and striking black markings around the eyes and cheeks.

Prairie Warblers are slender songbirds with long legs and a thin, straight bill, often seen in woodlands and overgrown fields searching for insects. They’re known for constantly bobbing their tails as they move among leaves and low branches.

We kicked off our summer programming this morning with the first Wild Wednesday of the season! 🦁

Kids got hands-on with real animal skulls as Dr. Tom Sproat taught them all about the incredible wildlife found in Africa. Dominach’s Taekwondo Academy also joined us for an action-packed lesson that got everyone moving.

Join us again on June 3 for our next Wild Wednesday as the Kentucky Reptile Zoo brings “Lifestyles of the Sleek and Scaly” to Middleton-Mills Park! 🐢🐍

Big things are happening at Kenton County Parks & Recreation 🌳🚧

Kenton County Fiscal Court officially approved Prus Construction as construction manager for the NEW Kenton County Park — another exciting milestone as this transformational project moves closer to breaking ground later this year!

Spanning 225 acres, this future park will become the largest in Kenton County’s park system and a destination for recreation, gathering, trails and outdoor adventure for generations to come. While new amenities are on the way, preserving the natural beauty of the property remains at the heart of the vision. 🌿
