Fort Pentecost

Fort Pentecost Started in 1984 in the heart of Amish country. Tex Pentecost's own little piece of Texas. Fort Pentecost runs entirely on donations. The Fort is always open.

There are no fees to visit the Fort. Through donations of money, materials, and labor the Fort is being revitalized. We are so very thankful for everyone's generosity and support. If you visit the Fort, we ask you to leave all building props inside the buildings, pick up after yourself, and take your trash out with you when you leave. The church is a place for reflection and prayer. Please respect

the space and do not allow children to play inside it. No food or drink is allowed inside the buildings. If you wish to visit, just remember there is no running water and only a primitive toilet. Please post pictures and stories about your memories at Fort Pentecost.

Happy New Year!

12/31/2025

As 2025 comes to an end, may we all be thankful and grateful for the blessings we have been given. May the tears of sadness this year brought be replaced with tears of joy and happiness in the coming year. Be safe, be brave, and be resilient—but most of all, be kind.

Happy New Year, and God bless.

We are just a couple of days away from the start of Go "Ag" Wild! In Buchanan County! Many great attractions on the list. The event runs from October 1-31. Try and get to as many of the 12 locations as possible! It’s easy to participate!

Here is how to get started:

If you happened to take the white dish pan, similar to the ones in this picture (the oval one is missing), please return it. It’s disheartening to see items taken, as it makes it difficult to keep providing fun things for the children to play with. I really don’t want to resort to securing everything down, as that would take away from the joy of playing at the Fort. If you’ve borrowed anything, I kindly ask that you bring it back. Thank you.

We are thrilled to see so many of you enjoying your time at Fort Pentecost. However, we must address some important concerns to ensure that everyone can continue to have a positive experience.

During our maintenance visits, we have observed that doors are frequently left open, items are being moved from their designated areas, and, regrettably, some items have gone missing. For instance, in recent weeks, inappropriate items have been left in the church, certain items have been stolen, and chalk was taken from the school and used inappropriately inside the jail.

While these actions may seem minor, they require cleanup and lead to issues that need to be resolved.

We kindly ask that you respect the fort by keeping props in their designated buildings, cleaning up after your visit, and refraining from taking any items. Your cooperation is crucial in helping us maintain the fort for everyone to enjoy.
Thank you for your understanding!
