We appreciate the community's patience and continued reporting of pesky water leaks popping up around town.
This is one of the busiest times of the year for our Water/Sewer crews, as ground movement tends to impact the water delivery system pipes. 14 water leaks have been repaired over the past two weeks, with crews putting in a significant amount of overtime to address issues, and there are a dozen more active leaks to fix.
Crews continue to evaluate each leak and prioritize repairs based on volume of water and property damage or flooding, while also managing the mud, water and dirty curb lines that come with excavations and equipment operation.
We are working hard to restore all water service to its previous level and to check and recheck repaired areas to ensure issues have been resolved. In addition to the leaks, crews have several fire hydrant and meter service projects to address in the near term.
In short, it has been a challenging month for our department. Thank you for your understanding.
