As temperatures drop, it can be tempting to start your car and leave it running to warm up, but remember: an unattended, running vehicle is an open invitation for theft.

We see a rise in vehicle burglaries this time of year, especially when cars are left warming up in driveways or even inside garages. It only takes a few seconds for someone to get in and drive away.

Here’s how you can stay safe this winter:
*Never leave your vehicle running unattended.
*Use a remote start system if you have one — and keep the doors locked.
*Don’t leave keys, key fobs, or valuables inside your car.

Let’s keep our community, and your car safe this season.
