Wenom-Drake House, Kimmswick MO

Wenom-Drake House, Kimmswick MO Historical Place - Circa 1877 John Wenom, who came to the United States from Alsace-Lorraine in 1852, built the house in 1877 for his wife and seven children.

The house's second owner, Fred Drake, bought it from the Wenom family in 1918. Drake added sleeping porches and opened a seasonal tourist business, a sort of precursor to today's bed and breakfasts. The Drakes sold the house in the 1940s, giving way to a succession of owners before Mike and Jeannie Capriglione purchased the property in 2010.

A great time was had by all at the Kimmswick Living History Day House Tour! A special thanks to Sharon for the huge help on the tours today. And the great music provided by the Capriglione Brothers on the dulcimer and base fiddle. (My boys ❤️) and my granddaughter Grace Marie for the excellent job on tour guide!!
