The students and instructors also had the opportunity to visit some neighboring stations; Tillamook Bay, Depoe Bay, and Yaquina Bay during a lapse in sufficient weather-thank you for your hospitality and knowledge sharing!

Yesterday, July 9th, CWO4 Beth E. Slade assumed command of the National Motor Lifeboat School from CWO3 William C. Armstrong. BOSN Slade is reporting from her previous command at Station Yaquina Bay in Newport Oregon. With 28 years of service she is distinguished as one of the Coast Guard’s few Master Surfman, holding a Surfman qualification for over 20 years. We thank BOSN Armstrong for his strong leadership and passion during his short time here, and wish him the best in his continued assignment with the OARS team!
