VILLAGE OF ILLIOPOLIS SEWER &/or WATER CUSTOMERS:
Due to having meter issues, the men have been reading well over 200 meters manually, which means I have to enter them manually. Quite a few are being estimated due to no way to visually read the meters. Therefore the water bills have been & WILL CONTINUE to go out approximately 2 weeks late. Therefore I AM NOT charging a penalty (even though the bills show there is one, because I have to enter a date on it). BUT…any bills paid AFTER the 6th of each month, will show up as a PREVIOUS BALANCE… just NO penalty amount. If you have a previous balance on your bill, but you know that you paid that amount, it was because it was received after I left for the day (1pm) on the 6th. So anything received after 1 PM on the sixth of each month, will show up on your bill as a previous balance. This does not mean I did not receive your bill. It just means I had to get the new bills entered & sent out before I could process payments received after 1pm on the 6th. ALSO… approximately 100 or so water bills were returned to me by the Springfield office due to them being torn in half by their machines. So I have been trying to see who’s bills were missing which part and resend them. But it looks like some more of those have been returned again! SOOOO… many of you did not receive a bill. It would be a waste of my time, and material to resend (again) to you. Therefore you may have A larger bill than the normal (a.k.a. previous amounts). If you are unable to pay for the full amount, just please make a note of it on the bill stub when you return it or give me a call at the office at 217-486-2511 and I will make a note of it so that When penalties resume I will not penalize you. If you still have any questions you may ask them on here, email me at [email protected] or call the office. I AM VERY SORRY for all the confusion & worries.
Thank you,
Tonia Smith- Etter
