The BCSO K-9 Team attended the annual Idaho Police Canine Association training conference last week in Boise. Teams competed and trained in a number of disciplines utilized for everyday patrol work in our community. While there Dep. Kollin Gardner and K-9 Kilo received the Patrol K-9 Rookie of the Year Award. Congrats to them and our entire BCSO K-9 Team!

Today we remember BCSO K-9 Rik, killed in the line of duty on June 5th, 2002 during the apprehension of a kidnapping suspect. K-9 partners become a loyal and loving part of our family, with handlers who dedicate themselves to high standards of training to be effective in crucial moments.
