This summer, YOU can help hope grow. 🌱

At Idaho Falls Rescue Mission, we are seeing lives transformed every single day. Men, women, and families who once felt hopeless are finding healing, stability, and new life through God’s love and the faithful support of our community.

But summer is also one of the hardest seasons financially, as donations tend to decline while needs continue to grow.

That’s why we’re inviting compassionate supporters to join our new monthly giving community through our Summer of Growing Campaign.

In I Corinthians 3:6, Paul writes:

At Idaho Falls Rescue Mission, many of our staff know firsthand what it feels like to be lost, rejected, broken, or written off. That’s what makes the love and compassion they show so real.

Glenn Thor, one of our newest staff members, shared part of his story with us. As a young boy, Glenn battled deep rejection and turned to drugs to numb the pain. That road eventually led to addiction, hopelessness, prison, and even a su***de attempt.

But God was not finished with his story.

While serving time in prison, Glenn cried out honestly to God for help. Little by little, God began transforming his life. Then, on Christmas Eve of 2022, Glenn unexpectedly attended a church service where he met his wife, Maria — a woman who had already been praying for him long before they met.

Today, Glenn returns to the very prison he was once locked inside — not as an inmate, but to serve through prison ministry. He now also serves at IFRM, encouraging guests who feel the same hopelessness he once carried.

Glenn’s story is a reminder that redemption is real. God can take pain and transform it into purpose. Sometimes the people best equipped to love others are the ones who have experienced God’s grace firsthand.

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice reminds us that freedom is never free.

At the Idaho Falls Rescue Mission, we are grateful for those who served with courage, compassion, and selflessness. In their memory, we remain committed to serving others right here in our community — providing help, hope, and a future to the hungry, homeless, and hopeless through the power and love of Jesus Christ.

As we remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice, may we also be reminded of the importance of caring for one another, lifting up the hurting, and bringing hope to those who feel forgotten.

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” — John 15:13

Today, we remember. We honor. And we continue the mission of serving others with love and compassion.
