Before Raelyn worked here, she was the one who got the surprise.

She was finishing college with three kids at home, working part-time, and coming up short. She hadn't asked for help from anyone. Then a local church passed her name to a snowmobile club, and the club arrived with gifts for each of her children and a grocery gift certificate that covered a holiday dinner.

"Even though I wasn't paying attention to God, he was definitely paying attention to me."

Today she works in guest services at our family shelter, welcoming parents on their hardest day. She knows what a stranger's generosity does, because she has been on the receiving end of it.

💙 COMMUNITY SHOUT-OUT: JUSTIN 💙

Sometimes generosity starts with something as simple as a phone call.

Last week, Justin called Idaho Falls Rescue Mission to ask, “What do you need right now?”

The very next day, he showed up with more than 200 brand-new items—everything from our current needs list! 🙌

From shelter supplies and personal care items to pantry needs and urgent baby supplies, Justin saw a need and chose to do something about it.

This is what we love about our community. ❤️ People are moved by God to give—and then they act. Their generosity provides more than supplies. It reminds the people we serve that they are seen, valued, and cared for.

Justin, thank you for asking what we needed, for responding so generously, and for helping meet so many needs at once. Your generosity is changing lives!

We are incredibly grateful for a community that continues to step up when there is a need. 💙

💙 PARTNER SHOUTOUT: The Spread the Love Commission 💙

Some partners don’t just give—they go the extra mile. Literally! ❤️

We are so grateful for our friends at Spread the Love Commission, an incredible organization out of Jackson, Wyoming, that continues to collect and bring vital supplies to Idaho Falls Rescue Mission throughout the year.

Their June donation included soap, bedding, blankets, shirts, and gloves—items that make a real difference for the men, women, and families we serve.

We may be a little late in saying thank you for their June gift, but we couldn’t let another opportunity pass without recognizing the love, compassion, and generosity they continue to spread our way.

Thank you, Spread the Love Commission, for being such an amazing partner and for making the trip from Jackson to Idaho Falls to bless our community. We are so thankful for you! 💙

World Humanitarian Day honors the people who show up for others. In Idaho Falls, a lot of them wear aprons.

Last year our volunteers gave 9,848 hours. They cooked dinner on weeknights and lunch on Sundays, rescued food that would have been thrown out, delivered meals, and kept the Care Closet stocked and sorted. Not one of those jobs requires a special skill set. They just require someone who decided to be there.

Groups of volunteers are welcome too, whether you come with a church, a crew from work, or your own family.
