Wow!!!

Pictured below is the cause of the outage at the Westbank Substation that left parts of the area without power. This is just one example of the hazards and unexpected situations our lineman deal with daily while working to restore service and keep our communities powered.

***Issue Resolved***
Verizon Wireless is having issues in hundreds of counties across the US including McCurtain County when calling 911. It will possibly not show your phone number and location. Please always know your location when calling.

Great Opportunity!

🚑 EMT Class Update 🚑

We are excited to announce that our upcoming EMT Class has officially reached capacity!

The response from our community has been incredible. Not only have all 20 available seats been filled, but we currently have nearly 40 individuals on our waiting list.

We want to sincerely thank everyone who expressed interest in the program and in pursuing a career in Emergency Medical Services. The overwhelming response demonstrates the passion people have for serving their communities and helping others.

At this time, registration for the July 2026 EMT Class is closed. Individuals who have been placed on the waiting list will be moved up the list in the order in which the request for the class was made.

We are already exploring future educational opportunities and encourage those on the waiting list to stay connected with McCurtain County EMS for updates on upcoming classes.

Thank you again for your support and enthusiasm. We look forward to helping train the next generation of EMTs and healthcare professionals in McCurtain County.

🚑 McCurtain County EMS – May 2026 Call Report

May was a busy month for McCurtain County EMS, with our crews responding to 628 calls for service across the county. That is an increase of more than 150 calls from April.

The most common emergencies included:
• Sick Person
• Interfacility Transfers
• Falls
• Unknown Problems
• Traffic Accidents

Our crews transported 388 patients for additional medical care while continuing to provide emergency response, patient assessments, and community support throughout McCurtain County.

Every call represents someone in need, and we are proud to serve our communities 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with compassion, professionalism, and dedication.

Follow these steps to help us help you. The most basic info could save your life, like allergies. Even if you are found unconscious or in a bad wreck, a crash notification or a call to 911 from a locked phone can help us if you have some basic info listed. Highly recommend!!
On the lesser emergency side, I have called contacts listed when a phone falls off a vehicle by mistake. They get their phone and memories back.
