As we close out another successful school year, we would like to recognize and celebrate three exceptional educators who are retiring after a combined 85 years of dedicated service in education: Mr. Danny Clark, Mrs. Jacki Clark, and Mr. Eric Gramer.

Throughout their careers, these remarkable teachers have made a lasting impact on countless students, families, and colleagues. Their commitment to academic excellence, unwavering support of students, and passion for teaching have helped shape generations of learners and strengthened our school community.

Together, they represent 85 years of experience, wisdom, leadership, and care. While they will be greatly missed, we are grateful for the legacy they leave behind and the difference they have made in the lives of so many.

Please join us in congratulating our retirees and thanking them for their years of service, dedication, and countless contributions to education. We wish them happiness, good health, and many exciting adventures in their well-earned retirement.

Attention 6th and 7th grade parents!

If you are attending the awards program today and would like to sign out a box (or more) of gummy bears to sell over the summer for Washington DC trip credit, they will be available in the office. Just see Mrs. Bradshaw.

Also, 7th grade parents, if you have not made a payment yet, but plan for your student to go on the trip next year, please contact Mrs. Reid to confirm their spot. Some tickets will need to be purchased over the summer, so we need an accurate count.

We have lots of gummies left to sell for credit toward your student’s 8th grade DC trip! For each box of 30 sold, your student gets $25 credit town the trip! Please reach out if you are interested!

The BCPS Summer Meals program starts June 8! While school is closed this summer, children 18 and under can get a free lunch from one of three options; daily lunch at school sites, to-go weekly meal bundles, or the M.E.A.L. Mobile food truck stops.

Daily lunch at cafeteria sites: Starting Monday, June 8, the BCPS Summer Meals program will serve lunch Monday through Friday at the Hildebran, Mountain View, Valdese and W.A. Young Elementary cafeterias from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. until Friday, June 19. Entree options at include chicken nuggets, sandwiches, cheese pizza and more and are served with fresh fruits and vegetables. Kids must be present for these meals and food is not available for takeout. Starting Monday, June 22, only Mountain View and Valdese elementaries will be open for lunch, serving from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Monday through Thursday.

To-go weekly meal bundles: Parents and guardians can pick up weekly meal bundles each Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. starting June 10 at Table Rock Middle School or East Burke High School. Meal bundles include seven breakfasts and seven lunches for each child in your household under 18. Children do not have to be present- just drive up to the front of the school, and we will load your car. Food truck stops: The M.E.A.L. Mobile food truck starts July 6 and will make stops in Morganton each Monday through Thursday. Children 18 and under can get a free lunch. More information to come regarding specific stops.

Summer meals are available through August 13. All sites will be closed June 26 to July 3 for the Fourth of July holiday. Summer meals are open to the public, so children do not have to be BCPS students to enjoy.

Hello EBMS family!

Our school is in need of proctors for our upcoming EOG testing. If you would like to volunteer please sign-up for one day or all three!

Training and breakfast will be provided each morning that we have testing.

On test days you will report to East Burke Middle School at 7:15am and the estimated leave time is before 12pm.

You can sign up via the Google Form, calling the front office, or emailing Mrs. Newman our amazing assistant principal.
