Please see our extreme heat policy below
Extreme Heat Policy:
The health and safety of our campers is our highest priority. During periods of extreme heat, we adjust our daily schedule and activities to reduce the risk of heat-related illness while ensuring campers continue to have a fun and enjoyable experience.
When the "Feels Like" Temperature Reaches 95°F or Higher:
We will transition to primarily indoor activities in our air-conditioned buildings whenever possible.
Outdoor activities will be minimized and limited to brief periods when necessary.
We will attempt to extend afternoon swim times, when scheduling, staffing, and pool availability allow, to provide campers with additional opportunities to cool off.
Campers will be encouraged to drink water frequently, and additional water breaks will be built into the day's schedule.
Staff will monitor all campers for signs of heat exhaustion or other heat-related illnesses and will respond immediately if any concerns arise.
Activities may be modified or canceled at the discretion of camp leadership based on weather conditions and the safety of our campers and staff.
How Families Can Help
To help your child stay safe and comfortable during hot weather, please send them to camp with:
A reusable water bottle.
Lightweight, light-colored clothing.
A hat or visor.
Sunscreen already applied before arrival (and additional sunscreen if your child reapplies during the day).
A swimsuit and towel each day, as swim schedules may be extended during extreme heat.
We appreciate your understanding and support as we make adjustments to keep all campers safe during periods of high temperatures. Our goal is to provide a fun, active, and safe camp experience regardless of the weather.
