Our middle school band students recently traveled to Saint Michael’s College to participate in the Vermont Youth Orchestra Association’s Band Festival. It was an incredible opportunity for growth, learning, and performance.

Festivals and assessment clinics like this are an important part of music education across the country, and our students represented both Lamoille County and our school community with pride through their professionalism, musicianship, and positive presence throughout the day.

Students also had the opportunity to reconnect with Dr. Alpizar from the Vermont Youth Orchestra Association, who joined them on stage to share feedback and rehearse a section of one of their upcoming concert selections.

We are so proud of our students and grateful to our staff, families, and supporters who helped make the experience possible. This is an event we hope to continue participating in for years to come!

Rising 7th-grade students and their parents/guardians are welcome to come on Thursday, May 21, from 5:30 to 6:30 for a tour of the Lamoille Union Middle School (LUMS) building and to ask some basic questions about life at the middle school.

This is a great opportunity for soon-to-be LUMS students to see where they will spend the next two years.

We look forward to seeing you on Thursday evening! No RSVP needed.

As we conclude Teacher Appreciation Week across Lamoille North, we want to take a moment to recognize and celebrate the incredible educators who make our schools such meaningful places for students to learn, grow, and belong.

Every day, our teachers do far more than deliver lessons. They build relationships, inspire curiosity, encourage perseverance, and create environments where students feel supported and valued. Their dedication to learning, both for their students and for themselves as professionals, shapes the experiences that help prepare young people for the future.

Beyond the classroom, so many of our educators give additional time and energy to coaching teams, advising clubs and organizations, directing performances, supporting events, and showing up for students in countless ways that often go unseen. These extracurricular opportunities help create the connections, confidence, and memories that make school communities strong.

Most importantly, we value our teachers not only for the roles they fill, but for who they are as individuals: compassionate mentors, creative thinkers, trusted adults, advocates, and leaders within our schools and communities.

To all of our teachers across Lamoille North: thank you for your dedication, your care, your patience, and the lasting impact you make every single day. We are deeply grateful to you.

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that our very own Jacob Nash has been named the 2026 SNA-VT (School Nutrition Association of Vermont) Manager of the Year!

If you’ve interacted with Jake, you know this honor is incredibly well-deserved. Whether he’s in his role as a trainer—spending countless hours supporting staff across all our schools—or stepping into the kitchens to troubleshoot a challenge, Jake leads with heart, patience, and a "can-do" attitude.

Why we’re celebrating Jake:
Expert Mentorship: He’s always there to guide new staff and ensure everyone feels confident and successful.
Above & Beyond Support: From procedural help to being an extra set of hands when things get busy, he’s the ultimate team player.
Dedication to Students: His passion for school nutrition ensures our students get the very best every single day.

This award isn’t just a win for Jake; it’s a testament to the strength and dedication of our entire Lamoille North School Nutrition team.

We are so proud of the work being done in our kitchens and classrooms!
