At 4:33pm Truck 1 was alerted to respond as the first due truck to the 9200 Blk of Morley Rd. (Co. 28โ€™s area) for multiple calls reporting a house on fire. Battalion Chief 1 arrived on scene to a 2 story split foyer with fire showing from the 2nd floor on the alpha side. Truck 1 arrived and the interior crew made access to the fire, while completing searches, and opening up for Rescue Engine 18, while the outside team laddered the building, secured utilities and softened up the exterior. Truck 1 remained on scene for 2 hours before returning to Hyattsville. ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Engine 1 with a combination career/volunteer crew stood by today at the Final Ride for PGFD Firefighter/Medic Demair Lloyd. We send our deepest condolences to Demairโ€™s family, friends, and all PGFD members. Many Hyattsville members have fond memories of Demair while he was assigned to Station 844 - Chillum. May he Rest in Peace.

At 3:24pm yesterday afternoon, Truck 1 & Chief 1B were dispatched to the 9700 Block of Good Luck Rd in Lanham (Company 48s area) for the apartment fire. RE818 marked on scene with smoke showing and started the Working Fire Dispatch.

Upon Truck 1โ€™s arrival they took their assigned position in the rear, laddered the building and opened up on the floor above. Chief 1B held the interior group.

Units operated for approximately one hour before returning to the firehouse.

Engine 1 went first due to this apartment fire in the 5400 block of 54th Pl in Riverdale last night. Engine 1 extinguished fire in the apartment & operated for approximately two hours before returning to service. Dispatched just one minute before midnight.

This afternoon Truck Co. 1 went first due to the 6000 Blk of 37th Ave in Hyattsville on Box 1-1, right behind the firehouse, for multiple calls reporting a house on fire. Truck 1 arrived and located a working basement fire with extension to the 1st floor. Truck 1 made quick entry through the basement and completed searches throughout the residence. Engine 1 was added as the Working Fire Dispatch engine after clearing another run. Truck 1 operated on scene for approximately 2 hours before returning to service on Belcrest Rd. ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Truck 1 ran as the Search Company to the 5100 Blk of Annapolis Rd. (Co. 9โ€™s area) for a report of a house with an attached church on fire. Engine Co. 55 arrived with smoke showing, starting the Working Fire Dispatch. Truck 1 arrived and split crews to search both the house section and attached church of the structure. Units discovered hoarding conditions and fire in the basement, with conditions requiring a Fire Task Force. After searches were complete and negative, Truck 1 assisted with overhaul and extinguishment. The Truck crew operated for 2 hours before returning to service. ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ
