HANDGUN ARREST
On August 28, 2026, at 1:45 a.m., an officer responded to the 3000 block of Hamilton Street for a theft call. When arriving on scene, he located two vehicles whose occupants stated they were there to fight each other. While speaking to the occupants of one of the vehicles, an officer observed a handgun in plain view protruding from the passenger-side seat pouch. A probable-cause search revealed a loaded semi-automatic handgun by the rear passenger seat. The passenger was taken into custody without incident and charged accordingly.
ARMED ROBBERY
On August 27, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., officers were notified of a citizen armed robbery. According to the victim, two suspects approached him in the 3500 block of East West Highway and demanded the victim's shoes. When the victim kept walking, the suspects tased him multiple times. Eventually, the suspects tackled the victim, took his shoes, and fled. The victim sustained minor injuries to his neck and arms.
A bystander observed the suspects disposing of the victim's shoes in a trash can. The victim later recovered the shoes.
