[Español abajo] If you're headed out for tomorrow's Trolley Trail Day, stop by "The Spot" at 4507 Hamilton Street at 10:30 a.m. for an official groundbreaking for the new Trolley Trailhead park planned for that space!

If you can't make the groundbreaking, City staff will be onsite from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. to answer your questions about the future of the park, which is expected to start construction later this summer.

Si vas a asistir al «Día del Trolley Trail» de mañana, ¡pásate por «The Spot», en el 4507 de la calle Hamilton, a las 10:30 a.m. para asistir a la ceremonia oficial de inicio de obras del nuevo parque Trolley Trailhead que se construirá en ese lugar!

[Español abajo] Celebrating some of the amazing programs that Hyattsville offers to older adults!

This past week, participants in the Hyattsville is Home Art class shared some of their artwork and paper-making at the final show at Art Works Now. The fun, creativity, and community connection were on full display!

This week also saw the graduation of the Spring Digital Literacy Class! Offered through a partnership with the City of Hyattsville and BCauseICan, this free, 10-week, bilingual class teaches computer basics to older adults. Participants learn to become more comfortable and confident using email, social media, zoom, and more. Congratulations to everyone who attended!

La semana pasada, los participantes en la clase de arte «Hyattsville is Home» compartieron algunas de sus obras y sus creaciones de papel en la exposición final celebrada en Art Works Now. ¡La diversión, la creatividad y el espíritu comunitario quedaron plenamente de manifiesto!

[Español abajo] Let's hear it for the YAC! 👏 The 2026 - 2027 Youth Advisory Council was sworn in last evening at a special ceremony with family and friends.

These Hyattsville students, ranging from middle school to recent high school graduates, will represent their peers in an advisory body to City Council. They were selected for the Youth Council following participation in a semester long leadership program and a competitive application and interview process.

Congratulations to this next generation of leaders!

¡Un gran aplauso para el YAC! 👏 El Consejo Asesor Juvenil 2026-2027 tomó posesión de su cargo ayer por la noche en una ceremonia especial a la que asistieron familiares y amigos.

Estos estudiantes de Hyattsville, que van desde alumnos de secundaria hasta recién graduados de preparatoria, representarán a sus compañeros en un órgano asesor del Concejo Municipal. Fueron seleccionados para formar parte del Consejo Juvenil tras participar en un programa de liderazgo de un semestre de duración y superar un exigente proceso de solicitud y entrevistas.
