Overnight Closures of Northbound I-35 from Northeast 36th Street to U.S. 30 for Shoulder Widening Begin May 10

ANKENY, Iowa – May 8, 2026 – If you drive north on Interstate 35 between Ankeny and Ames, you need to be aware of overnight closures for northbound traffic from Northeast 36th Street (Exit 94) up to U.S. 30 (Exit 111), according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Marshalltown construction office.

Northbound I-35 will be closed nightly on Sunday and Monday, May 10 and 11, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., weather permitting, for shoulder widening work.

Tomorrow 3/25 Public Works will be repairing a manhole in the intersection of 1st and Highway 69. Traffic will be diverted around the crews but both roads will remain open. Please be prepared for possible delays in the area.
