What a Night at the Barnyard Bash! 🤠

A HUGE thank you to our amazing Kerley PTA for putting together such a fun night for our Hippo families! 🧡💙 From the dancing and music to the food and great memories, it was a wonderful evening of community and fun!

📚 A special thank you to Ms. Becerra for making our Book Fair another great part of the evening and giving our families the opportunity to shop together!

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Von Keith Edwards Jr., who has been selected as a 2026 National Math Stars Pathfinder Star! 🧮⭐
Von Keith was chosen through a highly competitive national selection process involving nearly 9,000 applicants. As a National Math Star, he will receive 10 years of support and enrichment, including advanced math opportunities, mentorship, STEM experiences, and more.
Von Keith, your curiosity, hard work, and incredible mathematical talent are shining bright! We cannot wait to see where your journey takes you. Your entire Kerley family is cheering you on! 🧡💙

🎳🌟 Thinking Win-Win 🌟🎳

During Leader in Me, students brought Habit 4: Think Win-Win to life with a fun game of bowling! 🦛🧡💙

Students practiced taking turns, cheering for their classmates, celebrating each other’s successes, and having fun together—learning that a win doesn’t always mean being first or getting the highest score. We all win when we encourage and support one another! 🙌

Families, we're making a fun change to our Grandparents Night this year! Instead of Bingo, we're excited to host a Grandparents Trivia & Game Night on September 8th!🎲

Join us for an evening of trivia, board games, food, fun, and time together as a Kerley community. Families are encouraged to bring a favorite board game to share, such as Jenga, Life, Monopoly, or another family favorite.

PTA Membership Meeting: 5:30-6:00 PM
Trivia & Game Night: 6:00-7:00 PM

We can't wait to celebrate our grandparents and enjoy a night filled with connection, laughter, and a little friendly competition.

🏀 Kerley Parent & Family Engagement: Basketball Skills at Kerley Elementary

Kerley families, come learn, play, and have some fun together! Join Coach Billy and Coach JoWayne every Thursday from September 3 through October 8, from 5:00–6:15 PM, for free basketball skills sessions in the Kerley gym.

Parents and families are invited to participate alongside their students. No pre-registration is needed. Bring your own basketball, water, good running shoes, and be ready to have fun!

Mrs. Caswell's 5th grade math classes are working hard to establish their Formative Assessment Friday routine! Through this process, students are embracing Leader in Me habits by setting meaningful goals, tracking their own data, and taking ownership of their learning. By reflecting on their progress and practicing their problem-solving skills, students are learning to “Begin with the End in Mind” and “Be Proactive” in their academic growth, building both confidence and independence along the way.

We’re excited to kick off our new PBIS cafeteria incentive! Each day, classes have the opportunity to earn a Golden Hippo by following cafeteria expectations, showing teamwork, and making positive choices. ⭐

🎉 Once a class earns 10 Golden Hippos, they earn a CLASS REWARD!
