Reno County Poverty Simulation The Poverty Simulation (Aug 31, 6:30pm, Ave. A School) offers a glimpse of the realities of living in poverty, with a follow-up discussion Sep. 7, 6:30pm.

Jesus said, “Love your neighbor as yourself” (Mark 12:31) How do we in the church love our neighbors living in poverty? Come explore this question through two nights of a special forum on poverty:
* “Walk a mile in their shoes” by participating in the Reno County Poverty Simulation to role-play the life of a household in poverty. Struggle to help your “family” meet basic needs while facing barrie

* Jesus said, “The poor you will always have with you” (Matt. 26:11). But did He really mean we can’t do anything about poverty? What might be possible? Experts on poverty will help explore “Four Ways Churches Can Change the Story of Poverty.” Bring your questions, frustrations, concerns, and vision for making a difference in Reno County. (September 7)

Both events will be held 6:30-8:30pm at Avenue A Elementary School, 11 S. Madison, in Hutchinson. These events are open to anyone wanting greater personal awareness of poverty, practical insights, and openness to how we can all better love our neighbors.
