Due to freezing temperatures this coming Sunday, January 14 thru next week, the City of Hutchins is requesting that all Residential Outdoor Sprinkler Systems be shut off to prevent water from freezing on sidewalks and in roadways. The annual Hutchins Fall Festival will be held on Saturday, October 22nd from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Campbell Park (200 S. Denton Street).

Starting this month, Aqua Metric will begin installing smart water meters at every home in Hutchins. The new smart meters will allow all utility customers to have access to state-of-the-art features such as an online portal to view detailed meter reading information and automated warnings when a leak is suspected.

We thank you for your patience as we undergo these improvements to our service. The installation phase will take 3-4 months from start to finish. If you have any questions, please feel free to call us at 972-225-6121.

Join us for our 2nd annual Back to School Extravaganza on Saturday, July 30th from 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM at the Atwell Public Library. This event will be a fun way to kick off the school year, with an ice cream truck, games, and giveaways!

At noon the Atwell Public Library Board will bring the Summer Reading Program to an end by announcing the reading winners and raffling off the grand prizes. The first 96 students that sign up for the event will receive a backpack filled with with school supplies.

Due to the severe and extreme drought conditions in North Texas, the City of Hutchins is issuing mandatory stage 2 water restrictions for all water customers. Several restrictions have been put in place, including:

- No watering between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM, unless with a handheld hose that has a shutoff nozzle or a faucet-filled bucket.
- Even-numbered houses may only water on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Odd-numbered houses may only water on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
- Filling or refilling a swimming pool is limited to the designated watering day, and must be between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM.
- Operating an ornamental fountain is prohibited, unless it utilizes a recirculation system or is necessary to support aquatic life.
- Violations can result in fines of up to $2,000
