Effective May 22, 2026
Dry conditions + drought = extreme fire danger.
Know the rules. Prev wildfires.
Stage 1 Fire Restrictions Now in Effect!
Help us protect our community & follow fire safety rules.

Prohibited Activities:
- Campfires or open flames outside approved campgrounds
- Fireworks or pyrotechnics outside city limits or on public lands
- Exploding targets or tracer ammunition
- Metal cutting, grinding, or welding in dry vegetation
- Equipment use without spark arrestors
- Smoking near dry vegetation

Why These Restrictions Matter: Dry fuels, heat, and wind create extreme wildfire danger. Even a small spark can ignite a fast-moving fire.

Fire Safety Tips:
- Carry water/shovel/extinguisher
- Avoid parking on dry vegetation
- Report smoke/fire to 911 immediately

This week is National Police Week. A week set aside to honor law enforcement officers for their service, sacrifice, and dedication. This culminates on the Friday with a candlelight vigil in Washington DC for all the fallen law enforcement officers who have laid down their lives in the line of duty. We have a strong relationship with the other agencies in Southern Utah, and were able to take part in the candlelight vigil put on by the St George Police Department on Wednesday night to remember the fallen officers in Utah, including Officer J. Adam Ashworth from the St George Police Department (end of watch 07/22/2021). Also in attendance were representatives from the Hurricane Police Department, Santa Clara Ivins Police Department, Utah Highway Patrol, Utah Tech Police Department, and the Utah Tech Police Academy cadets. We appreciate the opportunity to participate in this solemn event.

This poor pup was found up in Pine Valley running onto people's yards. Even though he is very friendly, we could not find a chip or anyone who knows where he belongs. We had to take him to the Santa Clara - Ivins Animal Shelter If anyone knows his ow ers please let them know.

Hey everyone, check the first use of the Grappler Police Bumper by Stock Enterprises, LLC in Utah by the Washington County Sheriff's Office. A report came in that a Ford Expedition was reported stolen out of Las Vegas, and was last seen Northbound on I-15 crossing the Nevada/Arizona border. Our deputies were able to set up at the Utah state line and wait for it to come to us. Once confirming the vehicle was listed as stolen, a Grappler was utilized to stop the vehicle before it could have a chance to run. The driver was arrested and taken to the Washington County Sheriff's Office bed and breakfast. This new equipment allows us to stop vehicles in situations like this and keep the public safe.
