Air Force Forges Decision Advantage through Logistics C2 Hackathon

The United States Air Force is accelerating its decision advantage and weaponizing the logistics enterprise to project and sustain overwhelming combat power globally. ✈️📦

Through a recent service-wide Logistics C2 Hackathon, the Air Force unified operational and technical experts from Headquarters Air Force, Air Force Special Operations Command, U.S. Air Forces in Europe and Air Forces Africa, U.S. Pacific Air Forcess, and Air Combat Command to engineer predictive logistics solutions using Artificial Intelligence and Maven Smart Systems.

By pairing operations research analysts with cyber Airmen, the Air Force is building a secure, automated enterprise that connects forward-deployed unit needs directly with tactical airlift ex*****on. This transition to predictive logistics shortens the logistical kill-chain, ensuring our Joint Force stays fueled, armed, and ready to dominate any battlespace.

Congratulations to Lt. Col. Wesley "STONE" Schultz on assuming command of the 805th Combat Training Squadron, which comprises two distinct battle labs, including the Shadow Operations Center-Nellis, Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada, and the Combined Air Operations Center-Experimental at Langley AFB, Virginia.

Having previously served as the squadron’s director of operations, Lt. Col. Schultz is uniquely prepared to lead this highly complex, multi-domain mission.

During the Change of Command ceremony, Col. Terry "Val" Hjerpe, 505th Combat Training Group commander, highlighted the immense responsibility of commanding this unique squadron.

“For those in the audience, I want you to realize that the things [Schultz] will be responsible for at the ShOC would make an average squadron commander’s head spin,” Hjerpe said. “[Schultz], you were selected because you are the right leader for the future of this squadron.”

Please join us in welcoming Lt. Col. Schultz to command, and thanking the outgoing commander, Lt. Col. Shawn "Money" Finney, for his outstanding leadership over the past two years, in the comments below!
