COMACC, AFSOC Partnership Highlighted During 505th CCW Immersion at Hurlburt Field

Highlighting the critical partnership between Air Combat Command and Air Force Special Operations Command, Gen. Adrian Spain, commander of Air Combat Command, and Chief Master Sgt. David Unterseher, ACC command chief, visited Hurlburt Field last month to meet with the AFSOC command team before conducting an in-depth immersion with the 505th Command & Control Wing.

The partnership between ACC and AFSOC is a powerful example of how major commands integrate overlapping capabilities, assets, and personnel to present a full range of warfighting options to the Joint Force.

Civic Leaders Immerse in Emerald Coast Airpower at Hurlburt Field/Eglin Air Force Base

“Events like this are about building powerful advocates for the force of the future,” said Gen. Adrian Spain, commander of Air Combat Command. “By immersing these leaders in the complexities of C2, operational testing, and spectrum warfare, we arm them with the firsthand knowledge to explain why these capabilities are a non-negotiable investment. They return to their communities understanding that our lethality isn't just in the jets, but in the networks and data that connect them, and they become our most credible voices in championing that modernization.”

Developing the next generation of leaders! 🦅

Last week, Lt. Col. Nelson and the 705th Training Squadron 🦉 welcomed leadership from the Choctawhatchee HIgh School AFJROTC for a special immersion at Hurlburt Field.

Led by their Senior Aerospace Science Instructor, Lt. Col. (Ret.) Eric Lazenby, a proud 505th CCW alumni, the cadets got a front-row seat to real-world Air Force operations. They even sat in on the 705 TRS' staff meeting to see exactly how a team of experts pushes critical information to their commander to drive decisions.

We are incredibly proud to partner with Choctaw JROTC Public Affairs to mentor these future leaders. Keep up the great work, cadets!

A legacy of partnership and integration! 🇬🇧🇺🇸

We are incredibly proud to announce that our commander, Col. Ryan T. Hayde, has received the Air and Space Attaché 1* Commendation from the British Royal Air Force.

Presented on behalf of the RAF by Air Commodore Nicola Thomas, the UK Air and Space Attaché, the commendation recognizes Col. Hayde's visionary leadership and outstanding contribution to integrating U.S. and U.K. forces. The award highlights his success in breaking down historical barriers to create a truly unified command and control enterprise.

In her citation, Air Commodore Thomas praised Col. Hayde's tenure, stating, "you have set the example... striving to ensure that the direction of your senior leaders... is not only realised, but maximised to its full potential." She also highlighted the delivery of the Command and Control Warrior Advanced Course (C2WAC) from RAF Waddington as his "greatest achievement," making advanced C2 academics available to U.K. members for the first time outside of the United States.

Congratulations, sir, on this well-deserved international honor!

Royal Air Force Wing Commander Richard Kinniburgh, BE 26-1 U.K. exercise architecture lead, said, “When you have a team this unified, you’re not just sharing data; you’re building a single, resilient command and control nervous system. 🇬🇧🇺🇸🇦🇺“Bamboo Eagle demonstrates a truly unified command structure. The Royal Air Force continues to support the exercise series with an ever-increasing number of command and control experts, who are fully embedded within the AOC’s [air operations center] command team, contributing to the entire operational planning and ex*****on cycle alongside the United States Air Force and Royal Australian Air Force,” said United Kingdom Wing Commander Richard Kinniburgh, BE 26-1 U.K. exercise architecture lead. “When you have a team this unified, you're not just sharing data; you're building a single, resilient command and control nervous system. “In any conflict, the ability to make fast, effective decisions across vast distances is decisive," said United States Air Force Brig. Gen. David Epperson, USAFWC commander. "Bamboo Eagle doesn't just train pilots; it pressures the entire command and control architecture—from the air operations center to the expeditionary wings. We are preparing our leaders to command the fight, not just participate in it."
