Westran Fire was dispatched for a report of a boat taking on water on Thomas Hill Lake with 12 people on board. Westran Fire and Macon County Rescue both immediately launched boats with rescue personnel in a coordinated rescue operation. Upon arrival to the exact location, the boat was located partially sunk. During the coordinated response, crews immediately began retrieving the occupants from the partially sunk boat and transporting them to shore for evaluation. Upon their safe arrival on shore, all occupants of the boat were accounted for and verified to have no injuries.

Westran Fire Protection District is taking sealed bids on a 2007 International Medtech ambulance that was transformed into a support vehicle for the district. It has a diesel motor, and automatic transmission. Bids are due by August 10 at 12 PM. RESPONDER TRAINING

Crews from Randolph and Monroe County emergency response agencies spent an evening in Huntsville at Westran Fire Protection District learning how to respond to emergencies involving the multitude of electric transmission and distribution power lines that criss-cross the area.

Structural Porch Collapse During High-Risk Warrant Service in Huntsville

HUNTSVILLE, Mo. — During the service of a high-risk arrest warrant this morning in Huntsville, a structural porch collapse occurred while members of the Moberly Area SWAT Team, the United States Marshals Service, and supporting personnel were conducting law enforcement operations.

The Moberly Area SWAT Team is comprised of officers and deputies from the Moberly Police Department, the Randolph County Sheriff's Office, and the North Missouri Drug Task Force, who were serving the warrant in coordination with the United States Marshals Service.
As a result of the collapse, multiple law enforcement officers sustained injuries and were transported to area hospitals for evaluation and treatment. At this time, all reported injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.

No civilians were injured during the incident.

The circumstances surrounding the porch collapse are being documented as part of the overall incident. The warrant operation and any related criminal investigation remain active, and no additional information regarding the underlying investigation will be released at this time.

The Randolph County Sheriff's Office appreciates the rapid response and professionalism of all assisting agencies, emergency medical personnel, and partner organizations who responded to the scene and ensured the safety and care of those involved.

Additional information will be released as it becomes available and when appropriate.

🚨Exciting News from Westran Fire Protection District!🚨

We are excited to announce the purchase of a new Rescue/Medical Response truck for our district! This new 2025 Ford F-550 will enhance our ability to respond quickly and effectively to emergencies while providing our firefighters and EMS personnel with the equipment they need to better serve our community.

A special thank you to Steve Borts with Danko Emergency Equipment Co. for all of his help throughout the design process. His knowledge and guidance allowed us to build a truck that meets the specific needs of our department and the citizens we proudly serve.
