We are going to start a community paper chain. Please come in and write your name on a piece and add to the chain on the tree.

Today in 1913 the Famous Mercantile opened for business. Over the years several businesses have shared this building as their home . Come celebrate with us today a new start! Paws & Claws Thrift Cottage will now call this building home ! Come have a sweet treat and shop to save the life of a precious homeless pet ! Come see us !

Our new paint job is almost complete! We are getting ready for our Grand Opening on Nov 7th . This is a memorial opening as this building first opened November 7th 1913. The workers worked all night the night before to move the whole business in one night. We have been working hard to get the store ready for you ! You won't want to miss the hot spiced apple cider, sweet treats and great sales. We will start a new silent auction for the month of November and will also have a raffle for our shoppers that come to see us on November 7th or 8th. You won't want to miss this ! Mark it on your calendar! Ms Abby has agreed to make her pies again this year for Thanksgiving. This is one of the ways we raise money to support the shelter. For a donation of $30 you can sign up for a delicious Honey Pumpkin, Yummy Toasted Coconut, Old Fashioned Pecan, or The Best Dutch Apple. $35 for the Decadent Chocolate Bourbon Pecan . We will only offer 5 of each of these flavors so hurry in to make you order. Pies will be delivered fresh baked on Wednesday the 26th, the day before Thanksgiving. Make plans to come see us !

Getting ready to give this great old building a fresh coat of paint to help protect her through the winter. Base coat first and then to pick her new color . Should we do her original color ? What color would you pick ?

We had someone tell us about feeling a person behind them on the stairs and turn around and no one was there . Tonight we walked the building with a ghost detector just for fun . It was interesting that in the same location as the person had felt someone, the ghost detector went off. There was also another location in the building that showed a reading but we are going to keep that a secret for now. Have you ever had or know a story of something out of the ordinary happening in this wonderful old building ? Please share your story !
