The City of Huntsville Parks and Leisure Department is looking for volunteers to help make our Annual Haunted Trails a spooky success!
Haunted Trails will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Kate Barr Ross Park, located at 486 State Hwy 75 North, Huntsville, TX.
We are looking for people who would like to volunteer in the following areas:

🎭 Actors – Help bring the Haunted Trails to life and give our guests a good scare!

This is a great opportunity to earn volunteer/service hours, get involved in the Huntsville community, and have some Halloween fun!

💦🎬 What a SPLASH! 🍧☀️

Thank you to everyone who came out and joined us for our annual Back to School Flick & Float! We love giving our local kids one more BIG “splash” of summer fun before they head back to school! 🌊📚

The City of Huntsville Parks and Leisure Department sponsored FREE Kona Ice snow cones for the first 50 kids. 🍧 But the fun didn’t stop there!

A HUGE thank you to Council Member Casey Cox for generously sponsoring additional tickets, making it possible for ALL of the kids to receive a FREE snow cone! 💚👏

We hope everyone had a fantastic time, and we wish all of our students the very best as they begin a new school year! ✏️🎒🌟

The City of Huntsville Parks and Leisure Department is excited to announce the 2nd Annual Backpack the Block with Lee Baron for their Back 2 School Giveaway! This event brings around 1,000 free Adidas backpacks, filled with school supplies for school-aged kids for Pre-School through High School Seniors! There will also be food vendors for all to enjoy!!!
This event will be held at 1524 11th Street, in Lee Baron’s parking lot, on Sunday, August 9, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

Please join the City of Huntsville Parks & Leisure in congratulating Ashlyn Pinon and Dynah Martinez on advancing to the MLB Pitch, Hit & Run Team Championships, hosted by the Houston Astros! 🎉

Their hard work, determination, and dedication have earned them the opportunity to compete on August 23, where they will proudly represent our community on a bigger stage.

We are incredibly proud of these talented young athletes and can't wait to see them give it their all!
