This week, Firefighter Kiahna Franco had the opportunity to visit the Girl Scouts at Josey Scout Lodge, teaching them the importance of fire prevention and how to safely manage a campfire 🔥

With their first camping trip coming up this fall, these girls are already setting themselves up for success—and we’re proud Firefighter Franco and Firefighter Meehan could help them prepare for a safe and memorable experience!

We’re especially proud to see Firefighter Franco leading the way and showing these young ladies that girls can be strong, confident firefighters too 💪🚒

Such a great group of future adventurers—we can’t wait to see all they accomplish!

Battle of the Badges at Chick-fil-A tonight and let’s just say…we brought the heat, just not quite enough to take the win 🔥🚒

We even brought our VIP, Sparky, who definitely stole the show (and allegedly attempted to steal a patrol motorcycle 🫣). He also made a new best friend—the Chick-fil-A Cow 🐄❤️ (VIP recognizes VIP, obviously).

Now…did PD take the win this time? Yeah, yeah…we’ll give them their moment 🚔😏
BUT let’s be honest—when things really heat up, you know who you’re calling 😉🔥

All jokes aside, it was a great night full of laughs, community, and a little friendly rivalry. At the end of the day, the real win is getting to serve such an amazing community together.

Until next time, PD…we’re coming for that trophy… and Sparky’s coming for that bike 👀💪🚔🔥

🚨 BE PREPARED, HUNTSVILLE! 🚨

This weekend is your chance to stock up and save — Emergency Preparation Supplies are TAX FREE in Texas 🧰

📅 April 25–27

Now’s the time to grab those items you’ve been putting off:
✔️ Generators
✔️ Batteries & flashlights
✔️ First aid kits
✔️ Fire extinguishers
✔️ Smoke & CO detectors
✔️ Fuel containers
✔️ And more

Whether it’s hurricanes, storms, or the occasional “Texas weather mood swing,” being prepared isn’t optional—it’s smart.

💡 Pro tip: Don’t wait until there’s something spinning in the Gulf… shelves get real empty, real fast.

Stay ready so you don’t have to get ready.

⚠️ Strong to Severe Storms Possible Today (Friday)

Heads up, Huntsville—storms are expected to develop this afternoon into the evening, mainly along and north of I-10. A few could become strong to severe.

What to expect:
• Gusty winds & possible large hail
• Heavy downpours in spots
• Can’t rule out an isolated tornado (low risk, but not zero)

Risk levels locally:
• Most of our area: Marginal Risk (1/5)
• Areas a bit farther south/east: Slight Risk (2/5)

What you should do:
• Stay weather aware this afternoon/evening
• Make sure you can receive alerts (don’t rely on just one app)
• If you hear thunder, you’re close enough to get hit

We’re not expecting an “everyone run for the hills” kind of day—but it’s a pay attention and have a plan type of setup.

We’ll keep an eye on it and pass along updates as needed. Stay safe, y’all. 🌩️

Some very slight modifications to the Severe Weather Outlook for today, but the main story continues to be the potential for strong to severe storms this afternoon/evening, especially for areas around the Piney Woods.

Be sure to remain weather aware throughout the day.

FYI the outage is scheduled from 10p till around 6am.
