The Huntsville-Madison County Emergency Management Agency will conduct a full-scale emergency exercise on Wednesday, June 17, beginning at 10 a.m. The exercise will simulate a train derailment involving hazardous materials near Lee High School.
Residents may notice an increased presence of emergency vehicles, personnel and response activity in the area between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.
This is only a training exercise. There is no actual emergency, no threat to the public and no action is required by residents.
The exercise is designed to help local agencies train together and evaluate emergency response procedures in a realistic environment.
Questions regarding the exercise may be directed to Peter Randolph at [email protected] or 256-427-5130.
