Ridgecrest Elementary School

Ridgecrest Elementary School This is a Huntsville City Schools Pre-K through 5 elementary school. Ridgecrest is a Title I school located in southwest Huntsville, AL.

We are a 1:1 digital school which means that all students in grades 3-5 are issued laptop computers. Students in grades 1 and 2 have classroom iPads. Our Pre-K and Kindergarten classes have shared use of iPads. Our current enrollment is 643 students. The personnel at Ridgecrest consists of 46 certified teachers and 36 classrooms. Also included in the faculty is a full-time Reading Coach, Curriculum Specialist, TOSA, gifted and talented teacher, ELL teacher, nurse, and computer technician.

💐 Mrs. Ruth worked at Ridgecrest as Lead CNP for 25 years & upon retirement started our outdoor garden/learning center. Sweet Mrs. Ruth has made sure to spruce up and work to keep this a beautiful learning space. She has been our school “green thumb” for over 6 years now.

She says “This is my school, this is my place. It is my peace and my calm.”

🎉Congratulations to our August Teacher of the Month, Ms. Arnold! She moved from PreK to Kindergarten this year and is flourishing!! She is hard working and gets to know students on a personal level. ⭐️Today we started our Data Meetings where grade level teachers meet with Admin, Reading and Math coaches, as well as EL and Collaborative support. They do a deep dive into curriculum, the HCS instructional guide, pacing guides and data to set goals for student achievement. This is going to be a great year at Ridgecrest!!⭐️
