🇺🇸 Flag Day on Polk Square 🇺🇸
Today our community came together on Polk Square for a meaningful and memorable Flag Day ceremony.

We were honored to have local veterans and their families join us as the Girl Scouts led a respectful U.S. Flag Retirement Ceremony, reminding us of the deep traditions and values our flag represents.

This afternoon also marked a moment of hometown pride as we unveiled Huntsville’s new city map, created by talented Huntsville Middle School art students, along with a student‑produced video highlighting the history and heart of Polk Square. Their creativity and hard work brought something truly special to life for our community.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, participated, and helped make today’s celebration one that reflects the spirit of Huntsville — respectful, proud, and full of promise for the future.

After the ceremony, everyone is invited to a community reception from 2–4 p.m. at the Basham Community Center.

We’re kicking off our America 250 summer celebration on Sunday, June 14th from 2–4 p.m. on the Huntsville Square — and we’d love for you to be part of it.

🇺🇸 Huntsville Businesses—Join the America250 Celebration! 🇺🇸

City Hall is showing its patriotic spirit with fresh window artwork by Lillian Samuels, and we're inviting local businesses to join the fun!

Decorate your storefront, office, or windows in a patriotic theme—traditional or creative—as we celebrate America's 250th anniversary.

Beginning June 15, participating businesses will be featured on the City of Huntsville page. The business with the most combined likes, reactions, comments, and shares on its feature post by July 4 will earn the title of Huntsville's Most Patriotic Spirit! Winner will be announced at 4th at Mitchusson Celebration.
