Indivisible - 5th District North Alabama Organization founded on the belief that the next few years depend on Americans across the country. Please join us.

Link to Calendar of Community Activist Events and More: https://linktr.ee/indivisible5al Our organization is founded on the belief that the next four years depend on Americans across the country standing indivisible against the Trump agenda, against the man who is the biggest popular vote loser in history to ever call himself President and against the members of Congress who are willing to do his

bidding to reshape our country in his racist, authoritarian, and corrupt image. We are not, at this point, engaged in developing and proposing alternative policies, but are simply determined to stop Trump and Trumpism. To this end, we will be using strategies and tactics shared with us by a group of progressive former congressional staffers who are concerned enough to offer voluminous and extremely specific advice to anyone in the country who is interested in following it. They’ve done this as complete volunteers, in their free time, and without coordination or support from any organization, and they’ve been thrilled and humbled by the passionately enthusiastic response they’ve gotten from all quarters of the country. These are people who understand intimately how the institutions of Congress work and how the minds of those who inhabit them work, and they are persuasive in arguing that even a relatively small number of committed people, using their strategies, can have a significant impact, even in the reddest states and reddest congressional districts, even in Alabama and its 5th Congressional District. Together, we have the power to resist—and we have the power to win.

Happening today!!

❌ No blank checks. No free passes.

Join us today from 4–6 PM on the sidewalk at 2101 Clinton Ave W, Huntsville as we remind our elected officials that they work for us.

Trump has proposed a $1.8 billion slush fund to reward his criminal accomplices. Congress is moving a reconciliation bill that funds ICE while tucking in perks for the powerful. And our own representatives — Dale Strong, Katie Britt, and Tommy Tuberville — have said virtually nothing. No pushback. No questions. No accountability.

🗳️ Turns out voting might actually help you live longer!

A new study found that older adults who voted had a 45% lower mortality risk compared to nonvoters. Researchers say it comes down to purpose, community connection, and believing your actions matter.

Sounds like a great reason to get to the polls for the runoffs!

Voting is typically associated with politics and civil engagement, but a new study finds evidence that voting helps older people live longer.

Yesterday in Montgomery reminded us why this work matters. Seeing so many people from across the country come together in the heart of the South to fight for voting rights was a powerful reminder of what this movement is made of. We are proud to have had a presence alongside our neighbors of color who are leading this fight. 💙

After careful consideration, the Power to the Polls Rally this Saturday is cancelled, as we will be participating in the All Roads Lead to the South action in Montgomery.

In light of the Supreme Court decision to allow the racially gerrymandered maps to be used, it is especially important for as many as possible to make the trip to Montgomery to stand united with our brothers and sisters of color, support the national call to action, and with one voice fight against this outright power grab to remove true representation from our black communities in our legislature.

Have you ever wondered what you would do in the fight for civil rights? Would you have walked with MLK and John Lewis? Unfortunately, you now have the opportunity to not just say what you would have done but show it in action, because we are fighting that same fight today. Same fight, different generation.

Here are details for the event:
- May 16 at 1:00PM
- Montgomery, AL
- Bring your anger, your signs, your voice, and your comfortable shoes!

Let’s unite to fight for the rights of all to have their vote matter and to have fair representation in the legislative body!

If you want to attend All Roads Lead to the South and want a seat on the bus, make sure you click the “hop on” option after you click “count me in”at https://blackpowerwarroom.com/dayofaction/ . Deadline to register for a seat on the bus is Wednesday at 5pm.
