We ask that everyone kindly remember Assistant Chief David Stanly with a prayer, given his ongoing struggles with cancer and various health issues that have significantly impacted him. Throughout his distinguished career, he has attended more fire calls than most firefighters in the county and has provided mentorship to numerous firefighters and former firefighters in Scott County.

(June 11, 2016 | 8:30 p.m. CT): The evacuation center has closed.

(June 11, 2026 | 4:30 p.m. CT): The Tennessee Emergency Management Agency is supporting Morgan County officials following a train derailment. A TEMA district coordinator is on scene at the request of the county.

Morgan County has established an evacuation center at Central High School. For directions and evacuation center information, visit TEMA’s shelter map: https://www.tn.gov/tema/tennessee-shelters.html

Residents should follow local guidance, monitor updates from Morgan County officials, and avoid the affected area to allow emergency crews to respond safely.
