Huntsville Assistance Program

Huntsville Assistance Program HAP is a Christian ministry of assistance and referrals to families experiencing financial hardship in Madison County, AL.

Our two programs are the Emergency Food Pantry (3 locations) and Emergency Financial Assistance. MISSION STATEMENT
The Huntsville Assistance Program is a group of Christian congregations who desire to provide a ministry of assistance and referrals to needy individuals and families of Madison County, Alabama. This ministry focuses on the non-homeless and strives to achieve its mission by the poolin

g of volunteers, information and financial resources of its members. The Huntsville Assistance Program also makes every effort to cooperate with the different organizations, agencies, ministries and other faith groups who have a similar desire to support the needy and the mission of the Huntsville Assistance Program. STATEMENT OF FAITH
We believe the Bible to be the inspired and authoritative Word of God. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in the three persons of The Trinity, who are the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. We believe in the deity of The Lord Jesus Christ, in His sinless life, in His resurrection, in His ascension to the Father and in His return in power and glory. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. HUNTSVILLE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM BYLAW PREAMBLE
We, the members of the Huntsville Assistance Program, Inc. declare and establish these bylaws to preserve and secure the principles of the Christian faith and to govern the Huntsville Assistance Program in an orderly manner. The members of the Huntsville Assistance Program Board of Directors recognize the responsibility to support and implement the principles outlined in the Statement of Faith, the Mission Statement, the Bylaws and Board approved policies and procedures. THE BEGINNING
In early 2001, seven Southeast Huntsville Churches envisioned a single, centrally located, organized, well funded entity that could be developed to provide benevolence assistance to the needy and relieve individual Church of this effort. In 2002 the Huntsville Assistance Program was designated a non-profit charity under the provision of Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code incorporated in the State of Alabama and became a reality based in Huntsville, Alabama, under the oversight of the Board of Directors. THE PRESENT
The Huntsville Assistance Program serves Madison County Alabama as a major Christian benevolence provider. Each year the number of volunteers, member Churches and the donations has increased considerably. The Huntsville Assistance Program-Huntsville maintains the Clearing House which member and non-member benevolence providers can report assistance efforts and receive assistance information. In 2009 the Huntsville Assistance Program opened a satellite office in Toney, Alabama to serve those in need in the northern part of Madison County. THE FUTURE
We cannot rest on our laurels and must continue to serve the Lord by providing quality benevolence assistance throughout Madison County. Like the original planners the Board of Directors envision additional member Churches coming on board, the increase of donation from members, organizations, individuals and fundraising activities, the creation of additional satellite offices in Madison County to serve the needy in their community rather than them traveling to Huntsville and/or Toney. The Huntsville Assistance Program-Huntsville has outgrown its present location and we will be seeking additional space for the Food Pantry, interview rooms, Clearing House and staff. Funding from donations, fundraising activities and other sources were received to construct a Heals Clinic at the Huntsville Assistance Program-Toney location. This clinic will provide free medical and dental assistance to school children attending schools in northern Madison County. Huntsville Assistance Program (HAP)
