On May 21, 2026, all available members of the 414th Contracting Support Brigade conducted the Combat Fitness Test. The CFT consists of a one-mile run, 30 dead-drop push up, a 100-meter sprint, 16 sandbag lifts onto a 65-inch platform, 50-meter water can carry, 25-meter-high crawl, 25-meter “3-to-5 sec rush”, and a final one-mile run, all while in uniform. Participants have 30 minutes to complete the event. All 16 personnel taking the event completed it within the required time, with MAJ Daniel Leininger coming in the fastest at just over 19 minutes. The CFT must be performed by a group of 21 combat MOSs, however the members of the 414th wanted to prove they still have what it takes and can meet this increased standard.

“While we might not be a combat MOS, we support the warfighter everyday and by passing their test we show them that we are not only good at providing contracting support, but that we can meet the same standards required of them,” said 414th brigade CSM Scott Wondrasek.

This past Monday, U.S. Army Contracting Command joined the Athens community at the Alabama Veterans Museum and Archives to observe Memorial Day.

Our Commanding General, MG Douglas S. Lowrey, delivered the keynote address, reflecting on the profound selflessness of the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our Nation. As a command, we are deeply committed to ensuring their legacies of courage and duty are never forgotten.

Thank you to the city of Athens, the museum staff, and the Gold Star families who joined us. We stand with you today and every day.

Today's is Axel Alameda from the U.S. Army Mission and Installation Contracting Command! Alameda is an accountant with the MICC's G8 systems and accounting division. During the most recent government shutdown, Axel in concert with the MICC G1 time keeper, spent countless hours entering time for the 958 civilians across the MICC enterprise on a biweekly basis. Despite challenges with system latency and delayed guidance from HQDA, Axel persisted and ensured every employee had a complete time card that was certified in each pay period of the shutdown. At the conclusion of the shutdown, Axel worked countless hours researching payroll issues related to back pay for individual employees across the MICC. His attention to detail and dedication to service ensured that all employees received accurate and/or corrected pay for the shutdown pay period.
