🎉🩺Celebrating Adult Education and Family Literacy Week!🩺🎉

What better way to celebrate than welcoming our newest CNA students as they begin their 7-week journey toward a career in healthcare!

Our students will spend the next seven weeks building the knowledge and hands-on skills needed to become a Certified Nursing Aide, including valuable clinical experience in our community.

We are incredibly grateful to Creekside Methodist Retirement Community for partnering with us and providing clinical opportunities for our CNA students. Your support helps turn education into real world career opportunities!

Adult education is about more than classroom, it's about building confidence, gaining skills, creating opportunities and changing lives.

🎉 Celebrating an Amazing Partnership! 🎉

The Universal Forest Products (UFP) Foundation has awarded the Boys & Girls Club of Walker County $3,000! 💙

Our partnership with UFP began in 2023, and together we have served 98 students through our Workplace Literacy program.

Workplace Literacy provides English instruction designed specifically for the workplace. Students build their English communication, reading, writing, and comprehension skills so they can communicate more confidently with coworkers and supervisors, understand workplace information, participate in meetings, and advance in their careers.

The results are making a difference! Of the 65 students who completed post-testing, 57 achieved measurable skills gains. 📚📈

One particularly proud moment was visiting with a Workplace Literacy student about his recent promotion. He shared how he successfully led a meeting in English—a powerful example of how improving workplace English skills can build confidence and open doors to new opportunities.

Stories like his demonstrate the real impact this program is having on employee confidence, leadership development, workplace communication, and career advancement. His success is also a testament to the dedication of our students and the commitment of their instructor.

We are incredibly grateful to the UFP Foundation for investing in our students and supporting opportunities that help employees grow both personally and professionally. Together, we are building stronger workers, stronger families, and a stronger community! 💙

In observance of Labor Day, Boys & Girls Club of Walker County will be CLOSED Monday, September 7, 2026.

We hope our Club families, staff, supporters, and community partners enjoy a safe and relaxing holiday. We are grateful for all the hardworking people who help make our communities stronger every day!

We're incredibly thankful for our partnership with the food service, which ensures that every child receives a nourishing meal after school each day. A heartfelt thank you goes out to the dedicated staff who prepare these meals and to Mr. Kerry Roberts, who consistently delivers them—no matter the weather.

✨Throwback Tuesday!✨

What an amazing summer camp experience we wrapped up with an unforgettable party and award ceremony!

Our members had a fantastic day celebrating their summer brain gain. This season, the youth had the chance to boost their knowledge through reading and completing their X-Tream workbook, setting them up for success.

We cannot thank the members of the Fellowship of Huntsville enough for their incredible support. From the vibrant summer carnival to the preparation of the X-Tream summer curriculum, and the engaging weekly visits and group sessions, everything culminated in a memorable finale!
Our members thrived in all the exciting activities while enjoying the benefits of fun learning.
A special thank you goes out to Jonya Smith and the wonderful volunteers who truly devoted their summer to creating lasting change in our community! Your impact is immeasurable!💙

In less than a month, Macy worked hard and earned her GED! She began her GED journey with a clear vision- to create better job opportunities for herself, attend college, become a veterinarian, and build a future where she can support her family.

Macy's incredible can-do attitude, determination, and beautiful smile were amazing to see throughout her journey.
