Next Friday & Saturday (Oct. 23 & 24), there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony and a community celebration for the public art piece that is installed on Pelham Ave across from Publix. Its a beautiful piece of work and very deserving for Dr. Sonnie Hereford and Dr. William Councill. For those who came out back in Feb. to Calvary Hills to leave your footprints, there will be a gift to take with you on that Saturday as a way of saying "THANK YOU". Even if you didn't get a chance to leave your footprints, come on out anyway to check out the art piece. Its DOPE~CC Love!!!!

Just wanted to pass along some info concerning our homeboy Ricky Davis. His son Tyrin Baldwin is graduating high school this year, as a matter of fact, he's graduating this Friday from Grissom High school. The ceremony will take place Friday May 22 @5:30pm at the VBC. If Ricky was still here, we know he would be front and center to witness his son walk across that stage. If you have time to drop by the VBC, come check him out. L.A. would want you too~CC LOVE!

On last Thursday the CC Family lost another member, Ms. Minnie Holloway at the ripe old age of 92 years old. Ms. Holloway and her family were the first residents to move in CC after they were constructed in 1952 and she remained there until 2009 when CC was closed down. 57 years out in CC. From the time it was open until the time it was closed. From the beginning to the end, she had seen it all.

This love that we profess for CC is rooted deep, but the seeds of it were sown by the Holloways. Ms. Holloway had helped to lay a foundation for a community who share a bond that is unbreakable. Everybody knew Ms. Holloway and she knew everybody. I'll say it again: 57 years out in CC. Now that's history!

Ms. Holloway's memorial service will be this Friday Jan. 16 at Nelms and you can view her at Nelms on Thursday as well. Sending out love to the Hollaway family during this difficult time. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Gone, but NEVER forgotten~R.I.P. Ms. Holloway~CC LOVE:'(
