A Proud Hornet with Deep Roots in the Community
Ryan LeNorman is a proud 2003 Huntsville High School graduate and Sam Houston State University graduate. He is the proud husband to Laci, HHS ’07, and father of one current Hornet and two future Hornets. Ryan holds a Bachelor of Science in Health with a minor in Biology and a Master’s Degree in Public Service Administration and Homeland Security from
Texas A&M University’s Bush School of Public Service. Ryan LeNorman is the Preparedness Program Director for the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service’s (TEEX) Emergency Services Training Institute (ESTI). In this role, Ryan is responsible for the daily operations and strategic direction of the preparedness training and exercises program. He leads a team of managers and instructors designing, developing, and delivering all-hazards exercises, training, and technical assistance worldwide. Ryan received his EMT-B as a Senior at Huntsville High School, allowing him the opportunity during his college career to work as a Firefighter and Paramedic for Huntsville/Walker County. He also interned with the Sam Houston State University Athletics orthopedic surgeon. During this internship, Ryan traveled with the SHSU Football team, assisting in their sports management care. Alongside his full-time position, he worked as the Tactical Paramedic for Walker County Sheriff’s Department SRT, Huntsville Police Department S.W.A.T, and Sam Houston State Police Department Tactical Response Team. From 2009 to 2019, Ryan was employed by Memorial Hermann Life Flight as a Flight Paramedic. He performed over 2,500 missions at Life Flight, including Mass Casualty Incidents Response, Critical Care Medicine, and Industrial Response for Greater East Texas and West Louisiana. While at Life Flight, Ryan co-founded the Memorial Hermann Life Flight Operational Medicine Team. Ryan served as Team Leader for this elite medical team and participated in numerous operations across Texas, assisting national agencies such as DHS, DEA, FBI, ATF, and state and local agencies. The Operational Medicine Team also performed Outreach Education courses for interested agencies to improve community response. During Super Bowl LI, Ryan served as the Assistant Director of Medical Operations for Memorial Hermann Hospital.
