It was great to spend a full day in Limestone County visiting with local job creators and community leaders. Here’s a quick recap:
📍Kicked off the day with the Athens-Limestone County Chamber of Commerce, giving an update on my work in Washington to the business community. Small businesses are the foundation of our success in North Alabama, and it’s an honor to fight for them in D.C.
📍Great conversations were had with farmers at the Associated Growers Cooperative in Athens, an important hub for the county’s agricultural community. The modern technology used in this operation takes cotton gin production to another level.
📍My visit to Exalta made one thing clear: their local workforce is what makes the company a strong player in the medical device supply chain. I appreciate company leadership taking the time to tour me around their facility.
📍In Tanner, I stopped by Carpenter Technology – a leading global supplier of specialty alloys. Whether it’s defense, aerospace, energy, or transportation, their innovative manufacturing capabilities produce top-tier products.
📍To end the day, Sheriff McLaughlin showed me the county’s new public safety boat. This is a critical new asset for Limestone County that they secured through FEMA’s Port Security Grant program. As chairman of the Subcommittee on Emergency Management Technology, I am proud to advocate that these grant dollars return home to our district.
