Fred, Amber Kitchen and their two daughters Annalise and Arabella began providing Hugs of Hope to the Huntington,Milton, Barboursville West Virginia and surrounding communities in 2010 - Hugs of Hope Chapter of Hugs Across America. Service is innate for Fred and Amber. Both are pastors children being involved in ministry and service related work most of their lives. Fred and Amber are the owners o
f a local funeral home and cremation services business, Henson Mortuary. We collect (teddy bears) "teddies", 9" and 14" soft cuddly and huggable bears. We are chiefly interested in supplying them to those on the front lines where hurt, grief, trauma and disasters are experienced. You can become involved a couple of ways by donating new 9"-14" teddy bears or by a tax deductible financial contribution to Hugs of Hope, Huntington, WV. For as little at $5.00 each, we have the ability to purchase teddy bears from a wholesale supplier and then distribute them where needed. Our focus is on providing the bears to local police, fire departments, hospitals, child protective services, judges, hospices, funeral homes and families of child abuse, etc. We continue to make contact with local first response organizations that we will choose to work with. We are excited about the prospect of bringing comfort to children in traumatic situations through the hugs of teddy bears and words of personal encouragement. This is a great opportunity for you, your church, civic group or organization to get involved in changing lives and setting the life-course of children that are being placed in hurtful or grievous situations, due to no fault of their own. Feel free to reach out to my wife or myself, or anyone at the Hugs of Hope, Huntington, West Virginia Chapter.
