Haven’t posted in a while and this is not a Huntington Town related post; but one I’d like to share. I had the privilege of escorting my mother to the No Kings rally in East Hampton on Saturday and was accompanied by his old self, Democracy Dog (Buddy).

And a bonus to attend the Montauk St. Patrick’s Day parade on Sunday, where as Long Islanders folks gathered to celebrate the hard working legacy of our Islands deep Irish roots and their hard work of providing essential services to our towns as first responders, police officers, nurses, laborers, and firemen.

Spirits were high and democracy on display at both. Folks come out in a show of unity and support of each other with our whole communities best interest first. That’s unity, that’s a movement.

Get out there and get involved with your local Democrats. Get out there and win it back this midterm.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day. There are No Kings in Ireland.

Part of the way through this campaign a family member, vacationing in Saratoga, sent me a photo of this historic site marker, marking the site of the first meeting of the New York State County Highway Superintendent Association in 1909. The position of Highway Superintendent is an important role in our communities and one that shouldn’t be taken lightly. Through this campaign I hope I was able to stick to the integrity and the value that it plays as a service for the infrastructure of the Town of Huntington.

Although I did not win this election. I can assure folks that the Town is in good hands and will be going forward.

As for me and my activity in the community of Huntington, I would like to continue to do so. How that takes shape is yet to be determined.

I would like to thank everyone who supported my efforts and those of you that came out to vote for me. I am grateful and humbled by all of it.

As I mentioned previously, I hope to see you all around town and have a chat, make a connection, and new friends.

Rebecca is a dedicated servant to all members of our community. The Republicans lie about her record and then stoop to unreal lows in their misrepresentation of her character and her politics. Further, any alteration or misrepresentation of a woman’s (or anyone’s) likeness is a criminal, bullying, low form of politicking that we should not have to be subject to.

And I condemn it and call upon her opponent and the party leadership to correct themselves.

I support Rebecca Sanin for Legislator.
