Huntington Community Development Agency

Huntington Community Development Agency The Community Development Agency (CDA) manages affordable housing stock within the Town of Huntington. First Responders receive priority on our waitlist.

Our agency manages a variety of developments with affordable units for rent or purchase. All developments have their own income, asset, and age requirements. Some developments are restricted to seniors, those in the workforce, or first-time home buyers. To be eligible for any affordable housing opportunities with our agency you will need to join the waitlist, online through Opengov. CDA also offer

s two programs that allow homeowners to make improvements to their home. The Home Rehabilitation Program allows Town of Huntington residents to make necessary changes to
their home and improve their overall quality of living through two different programs: Deferred Loan Program (0% interest) and Emergency Grants. The Acessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) Program allows homeowners to renovate or create an accessory apartment in their home. Contact

At the Huntington Community Development Agency, we are incredibly grateful for the volunteer first responders who dedicate their time, energy, and compassion to protecting and serving our community every single day.

With thousands of calls answered each year by a limited number of volunteers, the commitment and sacrifice shown by these individuals is truly remarkable. Their willingness to step up in moments of emergency and need does not go unnoticed.

While one week is never enough to fully express our appreciation, we want to recognize and thank all volunteer first responders for their continued service, bravery, and dedication to the Town of Huntington. Your impact on this community is immeasurable.

At the Huntington Community Development Agency, we remain committed to expanding access to affordable housing opportunities and supporting residents throughout our community.

After reviewing our 2025 impact numbers, we are proud to share the meaningful progress made over the past year.

In 2025, the CDA successfully filled a total of 44 affordable housing units:
• 28 Purchase Units
• 16 Rental Units

Of those 44 units, 4 were secured by volunteer first responders through the Town of Huntington’s Priority Housing Initiative, established by Supervisor Ed Smyth and the Town Council, helping support the individuals who dedicate themselves to serving and protecting our community every day.

Additionally, the CDA completed 12 rental recertifications, helping families maintain stable and affordable housing opportunities within the Town of Huntington.

These numbers represent more than statistics. They reflect individuals and families gaining access to safe, stable, and affordable housing and the continued effort to strengthen our community through meaningful housing initiatives.

The Huntington Community Development Agency is grateful for the opportunity to continue serving residents and looks forward to upcoming housing opportunities and initiatives in the future.

If you or someone you know is interested in affordable housing opportunities, please contact Alicia Gorecki at [email protected].
