Big Brothers Big Sisters of America National
Conference – Day 2 💚

Today, BBBSTS had the privilege of sharing our experience with fellow agencies across the network, leading a training on small group mentoring and mixed-match programming. By equipping more organizations with innovative mentoring strategies, we’re strengthening our collective ability to create meaningful relationships that help young people reach their full potential. Together, we’re advancing the mission of empowering youth through mentorship and expanding opportunities for every child to thrive. 💚

We're so proud of two of our staff that we had to share!

First, congratulations to our Director of Development, Allison Green, for her graduation from the 3rd Leadership Huntington cohort of the Huntington Regional Chamber of Commerce. During this 10-month professional development program participants were exposed to a variety of informational and experiential sessions, with the goal of connecting, developing, empowering, and mobilizing current and emerging leaders who are committed to making a difference in Cabell and Wayne counties.

We are just as excited to announce that our very own Sadie Cosco, Match Support Extraordinaire, was accepted into the Chamber's 4th Leadership Huntington Cohort! We know her expertise will add so much to this next round of professional growth in our community!

Congratulations to our Hurricane High School Senior Bigs of 2026! Their Match Support Specialist, Jennifer, was on hand to award their BBBS Cords and Pins for successfully completing their obligations as High School Bigs. We wish them the best in their future endeavors, and hope they will continue to be mentors wherever they go.

This was our second school year in Putnam County, and with hard work we were able to support 35 matches (70 youth!) across Lakeside Elementary, Connor Street, and Hurricane Middle. These Bigs and Littles are certainly more prepared for the future thanks to the kindness, consistency, and growth they have shared in.

Big thanks to Wendy Fife for always being a fantastic coordinator for this program, and to the Putnam County Schools Admins who support our mission.
