Our hearts are overflowing with gratitude this week!

A huge thank you to the Huntington City Police Department
for organizing their recent Stuff the Cruiser event at Kroger. Your commitment to serving our community extends far beyond the badge, and we are so grateful for your partnership and generosity!

We are also incredibly thankful for the youth and young adults from The Awakening Church who participated in The SEND Serve Week. In less than an hour, this amazing group collected more than $1,200 worth of food for our pantry! Their enthusiasm, compassion, and willingness to serve are a beautiful reminder that God is raising up a generation eager to love their neighbors well.

Moments like these remind us that God's goodness is alive and at work throughout Huntington County. Through the kindness and generosity of community members, churches, businesses, and organizations, families facing difficult seasons are finding hope and help.

Thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus and for showing our neighbors that they are seen, valued, and loved. We are so blessed to serve in such an incredible community!

June Nutrition & Wellness Class: Eating in Season!

Join us on Friday, June 19th at 11 am in the Community Kitchen as we explore the benefits of eating in season and making the most of the fresh fruits and vegetables that will soon be filling local gardens, farmers markets, and kitchen tables throughout our community.

While they say there's more than corn in Indiana, we're making corn the star of the show this month! Together, we'll prepare simple, nutritious recipes that highlight seasonal produce while incorporating affordable pantry staples that many families already have on hand.

During this hands-on class, you'll learn:
- The nutritional benefits of seasonal produce
- Easy, budget-friendly recipes featuring fresh ingredients
- Kitchen skills that build confidence and independence
- Ways to combine garden-fresh foods with pantry staples for healthy meals

Whether you're looking for new recipe ideas, wanting to eat healthier, or simply enjoy cooking alongside others, we'd love to have you join us! This class is for every skill level!

A special thank you to the Parkview Huntington Community Health Improvement Grant for their generous support, which makes our Nutrition & Wellness classes possible and helps us continue providing opportunities for our community to learn, grow, and thrive.

We had a lovely afternoon Creating Community yesterday. We painted rocks and placed them around our property yesterday to encourage those who pass by! If you’ve wondered what Creating Community is - come check us out! We get together to get creative, get our snack on, and make friends with all who enter. Our next meet-up is June 22nd at 2PM. We’ll make patriotic suncatchers to celebrate our nation’s 250th birthday 🇺🇸

Our totally free cooking class is coming up Friday, June 19th at 11AM in our Community Kitchen, and we are excited to try fun and new ways to enjoy an Indiana summer favorite - CORN! The class is open to everyone. Registration is required by calling 260-356-0933.

Today’s Nutrition & Wellness class was full of practical tips, fresh flavors, and creative ways to stretch a grocery budget!

Kailey from Parkview’s Veggie RX program kicked us off by sharing about the wonderful resources their program offers, then we jumped into May’s theme: cooking on a budget.

As a bonus challenge, we prepped veggies once and used them across THREE different recipes: Fried Rice, Cowboy Caviar, Baked Potatoes with a topping bar.

Each recipe was packed with fresh produce and the best part is those ingredients are available right here at our pantry, along with pantry staples like rice, beans, and potatoes.

We love helping our neighbors discover affordable, healthy, and delicious meals that can feed a family without breaking the budget. Thank you to our friends from Pathfinder - To The Fullest who joined us today and to Parkview Huntington Community Health Improvement grant for supporting our nutrition and wellness programming!

In June we are focusing on eating what is in season. Watch for more information and plan on joining us for some Summer Bites!

Avery, thank you for blessing so many neighbors in our community and blessing us here at United with Love by contributing proceeds from Avery's Wonderful Whips to help others! Your efforts help our neighbors be served with dignity through the community food pantry and the Covered with Love Resale Shop. It was amazing to see you have the opportunity to set up to sell your handmade bath fluff products at the Roanoke Elementary Vine Street Showcase. Your entrepreneurial skills are impacting so many by your compassionate care!

It is a gift to experience young people in our community who have servant hearts - desiring to share kindness and give of themselves to make life better for others!
