Big energy, strong leadership & the "Power of We" was on full display at the Business Summit today!
Huntington's momentum is driven by collaboration across education, healthcare and business. Fantastic discussion from panelists City of Huntington, WV Mayor Patrick Farrell, Marshall University President Brad D. Smith & Marshall Health Network President & CEO Scott Raynes. A huge about out to our good friend Megan Archer, President of the Huntington Regional Chamber of Commerce, for moderating such an insightful conversation.

WELCOME TO THE TEAM: Huntington Area Development Council (HADCO) has named Michael Perry as its new Business Retention and Expansion (BR&E) Manager, reinforcing the organization's mission to support, retain and grow local businesses that serve as the foundation of the regional economy.

Perry will serve Cabell and Wayne counties in a position that is an essential part of HADCO's organization and will support businesses that are already here, investing in our communities and creating jobs.

“Having spent most of my life in Cabell and Wayne Counties, I have a deep love of the people here and what this area can offer,” Perry said. “I am excited to give it my all in contributing to growing a diverse economy that gives opportunities for everyone.”

Perry is a Tolsia High School graduate from Wayne County, West Virginia, and furthered his education at multiple institutions, including Marshall University, Concord University and Liberty University. Perry spent 15 years at Amazon, serving in a variety of roles, including the most recent Executive Engagement Administrator before joining HADCO.

As HADCO continues to grow, Kaylin Jorge, HADCO Executive Director, says she is excited to welcome Perry to this position, growing the team and the opportunities for Huntington area businesses.

“Sustainable economic development starts from within. The businesses already operating in our region are the heartbeat of our local economy, and ensuring they have the tools, resources and advocacy to thrive is one of HADCO’s highest priorities,” Jorge said. “Michael brings deep local roots, extensive operational experience and a genuine passion for our community. We are thrilled to welcome him to the team as we work proactively to help our employers grow and create high-quality jobs.”

We love seeing progress in Huntington - especially this amazing development from our good friends at Marshall Advanced Manufacturing Center!

Our new Advanced Welding & Robotics Training Center on the old ACF Industries site in Huntington is nearing completion. Just 15 months ago, the old machine shop looked like this (bottom photo). Construction is scheduled to wrap in October and the facility will open in January 2027, enabling us to double the number of welders, fabricators and robotics technicians we train!
