What is the SYON?
In 2019, CBE was invited by the Weingart Foundation to submit a proposal to facilitate a network of youth-serving organizations in SELA to increase organizational capacity and grow the power of our movements. But then we were hit with the global pandemic of COVID-19! Within a month, we were all confronted with gathering prohibitions, social
distancing, program pivoting, and a new set of priorities for our youth and community programs. However, instead of losing our established connections with ally organizations due to these issues, we networked in response to the needs of the community during
the health crisis. Born out of this crisis was a partnership that shared resources and information around community concerns with Covid and the cascading economic
impacts, such as housing insecurity (rent/evictions), job loss, food insecurity, the impacts of remote learning, and larger conversations on accessibility and mental health. This survey is going to help us continue these conversations and strategize a plan to address issues affecting youth in SELA!

¿Qué es el SYON?
En 2019, CBE fue invitada por la Fundación Weingart a presentar una propuesta para facilitar una red de organizaciones al servicio de la juventud en el SELA para aumentar la capacidad organizativa y aumentar el poder de nuestros movimientos. ¡Pero luego nos golpeó la pandemia mundial de COVID-19! Dentro de un mes, todos nos enfrentamos a las prohibiciones de reunión, social distanciamiento, cambio de programa y un nuevo conjunto de prioridades para nuestros programas juveniles y comunitarios. Sin embargo, en lugar de perder nuestras conexiones establecidas con organizaciones aliadas debido a estos problemas, nos conectamos en respuesta a las necesidades de la comunidad durante la crisis sanitaria. De esta crisis nació una asociación que compartió recursos e información sobre las preocupaciones de la comunidad con Covid y la cascada económica. impactos, como la inseguridad de vivienda (alquiler/desalojos), pérdida de empleo, inseguridad alimentaria, los impactos del aprendizaje remoto y conversaciones más amplias sobre accesibilidad y salud mental. ¡Esta encuesta nos ayudará a continuar con estas conversaciones y crear estrategias para un plan para abordar los problemas que afectan a la juventud en el SELA!
